A table saw is one of the most utilized and high-performance tools.  The extension increases the utility of the saw, allowing a wider surface to work on larger pieces of the woods and sawing sheets of wood.

There are wide ranges of the saw extension table available in the multiple designs and sync with different models of saws.

However, others prepare their saw extension table to make a customized extension as per their requirements.

There are a few specific requirements in a saw extension table to ensure better productivity in work.

The first and foremost requirement in any work is accuracy, and that accuracy may get disturbed if the saw extension table vibrates, especially towards the end of the cut. This may hamper good work. So a saw addition table should not be vibrating.

Secondly, the saw addition table should be in the same length and height as the table saw to make a uniform surface for work. A little difference in adjustment will result in poor work.

Though there are various models of the saw extension table in multiple prices and various shapes, it often does not fit the requirement.

There are many shops where the workers are alone, and there is nobody to support the long sheets while cutting in a straight line on the wood sheets.

At those times, the saw extension table was the preferable tool. In those cases, a saw addition table might be self-made also through a simple process.  It is necessary to have safety glasses while executing the process.

The width and the height of the table saw should be measured accurately by a tape measure so that a similar shim may be purchased to fit the same correctly.  Next, a torsion box may be created with 16 inches depth and 2 inches thick.  The width of the table will be similar to that of the table saw.

There should be four legs that would support the table. It can be prepared by cutting strips of plywood by taking the correct measurement.

Eight pieces of equal heights can be made where two pieces are glued together to form an L giving better support to the table. The legs thus formed may be attached to the torsion table with screws and, if needed, glue.

Once done, the saw extension table might be fixed in line with the table saw, and that way, a uniform base may be created.  ¼ inch of Masonite may be placed on the surface to maintain a smooth tabletop so that the working becomes smooth and rough edges don t hamper the cut.  The Masonite can be easily replaced when damaged.

Saw extension table might be termed as a primary horse in the woodworking shop. Since it is such a demanding tool and based on personal requirements, many prefer to build it independently.

That is why there are “how-to” videos on the websites that help create the customized saw extension table perfectly. Several works are made easy with proper and correct tools and their accessories. And with a perfect extension table, the work is more perfect, precise, and accurate.
